Introduction-
The Department of Marathi has been actively functioning since 1968. It has very long and rich tradition. The following eminent lecturers have worked in the department. Principal V.B. Bidwe., Shri. Vilas Patil Famous Writer, Shri. Laxmanrao Dhobale(Mini Higher Education of Maharashtra State,Mumbai) Shri. S.A. Deshmukh ,Shri. Rajendra Das Famous poet, Mrs. Smita Ghorpade Principal V.B. Bidwe who was previously working as Head of the Department in our college and also the principal in our college and Kurduwadi college, is the well known poet. Shri. Vilas Patil is the famous writer. He has written autobiography namely 'Wadalwata’ other books like (Dawatale Aakash) Shri. Laxmanrao Dhobale is a well known speaker versatile genius of Ancient literature. also the minister for Higher Education of Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Shri. S.A. Deshmukh & Mrs. Smita Ghorpade, previously working as the Head of Department were well known teachers. Shri, Rajendra Das, renowned poet, is awarded six state level awards.- Yashawantrao Chavan Purskar Pune, Kadam Gurugi purakshar Kurduwadi, Krantishingh purakshar Warna, Kolhapur Mäny of our students have achieved grand success in the examinations held by Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Hemant Gavhane and Vandana Bhagyawant have achived grand success in the SET,NET examination Mr.Gavhane got JRF. In this way Department of Marathi is successfully progressing to lead the students.
